This blog is going to take a closer look at the aspects of European History regarding the question where we came from, a subject which I have been interested in for a long time.

The reader is advised to keep in mind that there’s not going to be any groundbreaking scientific discoveries about the human past in this blog. This is meant to be more of a personal perspective on the development of the modern European peoples and it’s neighbours in the past. As it is almost impossible to look at any part of human history without also taking influences from outside into consideration, I will include elements of non-European history in this blog from time to time as well.

We’re going to be looking at how the modern nations and especially peoples of Europe came to be, how they’re connected and how they’re history is intertwined to come to a conclusion as to where they came from.

To do so I’d like to incorporate more traditional historical sources, such as texts and archaeological remains as well as linguistics and population genetics, to paint as precise a picture as possible with the means available to me.

Thank you for joining me.
